Probe launched into Sydney child’s death after gastro outbreak

An investigation has been launched into how a child died after being hospitalised during a Sydney gastro outbreak. Six children from the same lower north shore childcare centre were struck down with the virus in the past week. Five of the Little Zak’s Artamon attendees were hospitalised with the illness. One of these children died in hospital on Sunday. However, NSW health authorities say the death doesn’t appear to be related to the illness at this stage.
