ACT had second-highest rate for still births in country in 2012, new data shows

The ACT had the second-highest rate of still births in the country in 2011-12, at 8.2 stillborn babies delivered for every 1000 live births, a new report shows. The Perinatal Deaths in Australia 1993–2012 report, by the University of New South Wales and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, revealed the ACT’s high stillbirth rate was second only to Victoria in 2011-12, which had 9.4 deaths for every 1000 births.
